Bench Assembly
Bench assembly, or table top assembly, is the process of joining pre-machined or pre-fabricated parts into functional sub-assemblies. This could include joining parts by preparing and installing aluminum rivets or blind pull rivets, welding, or bolting.
Bench assembly ensures consistent quality for standardized parts with reduced errors. It allows for increased efficiency and faster production times while improving quality control.
Sub-Assembly
These components are made from smaller parts and then installed into the aircraft frame or one of its larger components. A wide range of aircraft components can be made from aircraft sub-assemblies like landing gear components, wing assemblies, electrical panels, and more. Function sub-assemblies are also used for aircraft doors, engine nacelles, hatches, instrument panels and other interior components.
